YODER – The Southeast High School girls’ basketball team bounced back from Friday evening’s 49-28 loss to Bridgeport, Neb., with a 37-21 win over Class 3A Burns Broncs on Saturday.
On Friday, the Lady Cyclones fell behind 6-1 in the early moments of the loss to the Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs.
With 2:07 left in the first quarter, Southeast freshman Sydney Anderson dropped in the Lady Cyclone’s first field goal of the game.
Midway through the second quarter, freshman Kealy Carson connected on a 3-pointer to draw Lady Cyclones within two at 13-11.
That proved as close as Southeast came to seeing the lead for the remainder of the game.
The visiting Lady Bulldogs went on an 18-2 run spanning into the early moments in the third quarter.
Trailing 31-13, freshman Brenna Herring ended the Lady Cyclone scoring drought with 5:24 left in the quarter.
Bridgeport pushed its lead to as many as 20 by the end of the third.
Carson, Anderson and senior Kadra Clark led the team with eight points each, while Herring and junior Jadyn Hall added two each.
The next day, the Lady Cyclones bounced back with a 16-point victory over Burns.

The Lady Cyclones (7-2) travels to Cheyenne to face Cheyenne East JV at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14.
