TORRINGTON – The Torrington Lady Trailblazers golf team won the team title at the Torrington Tournament on Friday, finishing with a score of 268 strokes, winning by 46 strokes.

“It is exciting to see how our girls team score keeps getting better every week,” coach Jeff Halley said. “Too bad Kelly Walsh didn’t come over. I think this was the week we would have beaten both them and Natrona.”

Caleigh Essert paced the Lady Blazers with a score of 76, taking first by 14 strokes. Kaylee Wilson also snuck into the top-three, finishing with a score of 91 to take third. Laura Halley finished fifth, carding a 101.

Jade Reinhardt finished with a score of 120, tying for 21st. Logan Murphy posted a score of 129, finishing 27th, while Audrey Perry slid to one slot behind Murphy, finishing 28th (131).

The Lady Blazers finished with 268 strokes to finish first. Laramie snagged second with 314, followed by Cheyenne Central’s 330 strokes.

Cameron Murphy was the lone Torrington boy to golf, turning in a score of 96 to finish 27th.

Cheyenne East won the boys team title with 318, followed by Kelly Walsh (323) and Cheyenne Central (335).

The Torrington golf team returns to action to wrap up the spring season with a tournament in Wheatland.

“Our girls are excited about what the future holds after putting together some good rounds this spring,” Halley said. “Hopefully, we can do it one more time next week in Wheatland.”
