GUERNSEY – The Lingle-Fort Laramie High School boys’ basketball team improved to 9-4 recently with road wins over the Guerney-Sunrise Vikings and the Morrill, Neb. Lions.

On Friday, Jan. 24, the Doggers brushed aside the Vikings, 60-35.

L-FL boys score two road wins

GUERNSEY – The Lingle-Fort Laramie High School boys’ basketball team improved to 9-4 recently with road wins over the Guerney-Sunrise Vikings and the Morrill, Neb. Lions.

On Friday, Jan. 24, the Doggers brushed aside the Vikings, 60-35.

L-FL held an 11-7 lead but took control of the game in the second quarter with a 24-point outburst.

Leading 35-14 at the break, the Doggers slowly pulled away in the second half for a 25-point win.

Senior Caeden Riley led the team with 26 points, while junior Cordell Forkner added 16. Senior Bailey Powell tossed in 11.

On Tuesday, the Doggers returned to the road with a 40-30 win over Morrill.

Lingle led 12-7 after a quarter, pushing their lead to 21-10 by halftime.

In the third quarter, Morrill made a run, outscoring L-FL 9-3, cutting the deficit to five heading to the final quarter.

Over the final eight minutes, the Doggers were able to push the lead back to double-digits by the final horn.

Lingle (9-4) hosts Glenrock on Friday at 7 p.m. and Pine Bluffs on Saturday at 4 p.m.
