LINGLE – Memorial Services for Keith Owen Perry, 94, will be held Dec. 5, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at North Hills Baptist Church in Lingle, with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle, and cremation has taken place. Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Lingle Volunteer Fire Department.

Keith was born in Rockport, Missouri to John Lafayette “Lafe” Perry and Eva A. Evans. Keith spent his early years in southwest lowa. He moved to Kansas City, Kansas with his mom and stepdad. He left Kansas City at the age of 15, going to Colorado and worked on ranches in Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. Keith then found Estes Park and the Longs Peak lnn which became home. He joined the Coast Guard - Navy, spending 42 months overseas or on ships. 

Upon his discharge, he returned to Colorado. ln 1954, he married Ann Cooper and from this union he had four children. Keith worked as a horseshoer and was a Brand Inspector for the State of Colorado. He transferred to the Colorado Department of Agriculture, Livestock Disease Control. 

Later, he owned two Western Stores, the Cowpoke Shop (Loveland, Colorado) and Perry’s Cowboy Store (Laramie). He had the Laramie Store from 1964 to 1973. He married Kathie in 1979 and was joined by four more children, whom he loved like his own. During this time, he was employed by the Wyoming Livestock Board, becoming a Livestock Enforcement Officer, retiring in 1991. We bought and built a ranch north of Fort Laramie, then moved to Lingle. 

Keith is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathie, Lingle; children John Perry (Partner, Sheri), Laramie; Joe Perry, Fort Laramie; Janice Perry, Santa Cruz, California; Jill, Perry, Loveland; Chad (Renee’) Nelson, Page, Arizona; Dave (Misty) Nelson, Redding, California; Stacy Engelbrecht, Lingle and Sherry (George) Kirkikis, Lingle. He has 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

Keith was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joy.
