TORRINGTON – Graveside services for James A. Smith will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Vereran’s Chapel in Valley View Cemetary, Torrington.
WWII army veteran, James Alex Smith, died on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, in Torrington at the age of 92.
He was born in Ohio, where he worked at Samuel Moore and Co. for man years. He later moved to Arizona, where he worked for Motorola until he retired. After his retirement, he moved to Wyoming where he lived until his death.
He was proceded in death by his first wife, Ona Smith; his second wife, Isabelle Smith; his son, David Smith; his step-son, Jon Davis; and his parents, James Frank Smith and Margarel Smith.
His living children are daughter’s Susan Purvis, Sandra Hood and Sharon Morrision; and step-children Tom Davis, Debra McVay and Kristen Jacques. He leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
