CHEYENNE – On Thursday, Sept. 23, the Goshen County Schools Special Olympic team competed in the Fall Area III Games held in Cheyenne. The team competed in the Soccer Skills portion of the competition.
EJ Haas won the gold medal for the Men’s Level 1 Division and Ty Haeffelin won the silver medal for the Men’s Level 1 Division. In the Women’s Level 1 Division, Anneke Kramer won the gold medal and Amelia Winter won the silver medal. Due to COVID, Wyoming Special Olympics has canceled the Fall State Games in Casper and will instead do a virtual competition this year. Athletes’ scores from across the state who participated in the Area Games will all be put in new divisions for the virtual state games and medals/awards will then be awarded. The Goshen County Schools team is coached by Craig Schadwinkel and Sage Munoz.
