TORRINGTON – Goshen Community theatre will close out the season with Agatha Christie’s wildly popular whodunit The Mousetrap – known for being the longest running play in London, approaching 29,000 performances since opening in 1952.
Set in a remote boarding house operated by a newlywed couple during a snow storm, the stranded guests begin to die inexplicably, and the killer could be any one of them. The suspects include an ill-tempered spinster with a curious past, an architect who might be better suited as a chef, a retired Army officer, a mysterious man who appears claiming his car is stuck in a drift and a detective who gets on everyone’s nerves. The policeman who makes his way through the storm is baffled at every turn and the hijinks end with another Agatha Christie twist.Directed by Aaron Bahmer, the cast features new as well as familiar faces.
Returning to the stage are Charlie Cockett, playing Major Metcalf, Madison Bloodgood, playing Mollie Ralston, Gary Glass, playing Sergeant Trotter and Stacey Robbins as Miss Casewell. New to the GCT stage are Samuel Bomberg, portraying Giles Ralston, Bruce McBurney, playing Christopher Wren and Carolyn McBurney as Mrs. Boyle.
The show will run Oct. 17 – 26 at the Eastern Wyoming College Auditorium. Tickets are available at the door beginning one hour before each performance.
