CASPER – Eastern Wyoming College trio of Karissa Rayhill, Jacey Thompson and Braden Pirrung qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo on Saturday evening at the Casper Events Center.
Pirrung led the way for the Lancers with a fifth-place finish in the with a run of 10.4 seconds in the championship short-go of the team roping division with teammate Jerren Johnson of Casper College.

Pirrung led the way for the Lancers with a fifth-place finish in the with a run of 10.4 seconds in the championship short-go of the team roping division with teammate Jerren Johnson of Casper College.
Thompson, a Yoder product, qualified for both goat tying and breakaway roping finals. She finished sixth in goat tying in 6.5 seconds, beating out Rayhill who placed 11th in 7 seconds.
Thompson tied for sixth, recording a no time on Saturday.
The Lady Lancers finished the weekend 22nd in the team standings with 80 points. McNeese State (La.) University won the national championship with 462.5 points. College of Southern Idaho was second with 370. The University of Wyoming was the highest finishing Central Rocky Mountain Region team with 275 points which was good enough for fifth.
Panola (Texas) Junior College won the men’s title with 825 points.
