CHEYENNE – The Eastern Wyoming College men’s basketball team ended the season with a pair of road losses last week.
On Wednesday, the Lancers traveled to Casper and lost to the Thunderbirds, 86-66.
Casper raced out to a 44-25 halftime lead, and the T-Birds added 42 points in the second half en route to the 20-point victory.
Freshman Tom Mark led the team with 29 points and eight rebounds, while sophomore Quincy Taylor added 10 points. Freshman Mailik Frederick chipped in eight points. The Lancers only got 10 points from their bench compared to 30 for Casper.
On Saturday, Eastern Wyoming let a 44-42 halftime lead slip away in the second half in a 83-82 loss to Laramie County Community College.
Mark led the team with 21 points and nine rebounds, while sophomore Nikolas Gustavson added 20. Taylor added 17.
The Lancers wrap up the regular season with a 14-15 record. The Region IX Tournament is scheduled for March 3-5 and will be hosted by the top seed from the Region IX South Division.
