RIVERTON – The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer golf team won the Central Wyoming College tournament with a score of 574, 46 strokes ahead of second-place finisher, McCook Community College.

“The guys finished the regular season strong with another under par tournament on a very good golf course,” EWC coach Zach Smith said.

Freshman Brendan Thomas and Tomas Kubata finished the tournament in first and second, respectively, with a 138 and 142.

“Brendan and Tomas have been playing very well lately,” Smith said. “It was fun to watch them play together on the final day to see who could get the win. Brendan snuck away with the win, continuing his solid play this spring.”

The win also secured the Lancers another Region IX title.
