GOSHEN COUNTY – The Goshen County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol were part of a manhunt Sunday night along the North Platte River, and the suspect is still at-large.
Goshen County Sheriff Kory Fleenor said three deputies took part in the hunt for Stephen Evans, a 48-year-old man who is wanted on unspecified felony warrants from Colorado, is considered armed and dangerous.
Fleenor advised Goshen County residents to contact the sheriff if they believe they’ve sighted Evans, and not to confront him.
“If you think you see him, give us a call,” Fleenor said.
The hunt began after law enforcement officials in Nebraska received word Evans was in Henry, Neb. When officers conducted a search of his suspected whereabouts, Evans allegedly ran into a nearby wooded area.
Officers from the GCSO, WHP, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office, Scottsbluff Police Department, Gering Police Department, Mitchell Police Department and the Morrill Police Department assisted in the search.
