TORRINGTON – Mass of Christian Burial for Dora Valvina (Baros) Ramos, 91, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2022 at Saint Rose Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle. Dora died March 8, 2022. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Dora was born March 25, 1932 in Fort Lupton, Colorado to Cora and Albert Baros. The family moved to Hartville in 1945 where she received her early education. She later earned her GED and was awarded Salutatorian in 1975. She took college classes and worked at EWC but had to retire in 1986 because of back problems. She married Manuel Ramos in Cheyenne in 1949 where they lived and raised eight children. They divorced in 1981 and she moved to Torrington.
Dora’s hobbies were crocheting, reading, watching baseball, football and college basketball games on television. Her favorite teams were the Colorado Rockies, the Denver Broncos and the Wyoming Cowboys.
Dora is survived by one daughter Valerie Herrera of Craig, Colorado; two sons Patrick and Mario of Torrington; a brother Alfonso of Ft. Collins, Colorado and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons Dennis, Ric and Carlos; two daughters Regina and Tara Lynn Ramos; four sisters and two brothers.
