CASPER – Delores “Grandma Smooch” I. Henley, 76, passed away on June 13, 2018 in Casper.

Delores enjoyed having family dinners mainly Thanksgiving. She loved to cook from scratch her specialty being homemade biscuits and gravy. When Delores wasn’t cooking she was reading; her favorite subjects were the history of Wyoming, Native American Culture (Arapahoe) or cookbooks.

Grandma Smooch loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Family was everything and she made sure you knew how loved you were. She enjoyed camping and crocheting but family was everything.

Because no one was a stranger to Delores, she made friends with ease. Known as a kind and giving person she made you feel special and would do anything for anyone. Delores liked to give back to the community and would help out where she could and volunteer when she could, her favorite was The Food Bank of the Rockies until her health made it difficult.

Delores is survived by her husband Robert F. Henley, daughter’s Valerie Thiel (Jess), Sandra Peterson (Darrel), Linda Keyser, Denby Burgess (Carla Brown) and George Burgess, grandchildren Eddy Burgess, Micheal Dale Van Garp II, Michell Montoya, Gabe Montoya, Daniel Burgess, Betty Burgess, Brady Burgess, Michelle Gifford, Shawn Hardman, Lauren Peterson, Erin Peterson, Lauren Peterson, Lea Peterson, Taylour Keyser, Sister Alberta Shaffer (Donald), 17 Great Grand Kids and numerous nieces and nephews.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents Loren and Lois Castellow, son-in-law Michael Dale VanGarp, sister Violet Ransom, brother-in-law Ernest Ransom, daughter-in-law Lori Burgess, grandson Paul Peterson and nephew Eric Ransom.

In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity in Delores’s name, or to the family to defer cost.
