TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Darlene Louise Schuppan, 84, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at the LaGrange School Gymnasium with Pastor Scott Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in the LaGrange Cemetery. Darlene died Feb. 12, 2018 at Community Hospital and cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Bear Creek Women’s Club or the donor’s choice. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Darlene was born Nov. 30, 1933, to William and Bernice Chamberlain in Gering, Neb. Her family lived in LaGrange and she graduated from LaGrange High School in 1951. She married Ralph Schuppan on Nov. 4, 1951. They spent most of their life in Meridan at the Hunter Ranch. They moved to Torrington in 1999. Darlene worked at the Meridan and LaGrange Post Offices. She retired after 25 years.
Darlene was an active member of the Bear Creek Women’s Club and the Goshen County Cattle Women. She loved her husband and her family more than anything. She especially loved each new grandchild and great-grandchild.
Darlene is survived by her son, Rod (Kathy) Schuppan; daughter, Dede (Ross) Buckhaults; grandchildren, Jeff Schuppan, Brandy (Mike) Tighe, Jordan Buckhaults, Julie (Theron) Hageman, Heidi (Jason) Garcia and Nick Schuppan; great-grandchildren, Avery and Cooper Tighe, Aspen and Reagan Hageman, Lauren Fagler, Marissa and Mason Weickum and Rowdy Garcia; sisters, Genevieve Ennis and Dorothy Nichols; and a brother, Doug Chamberlain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Schuppan; son, Eddy Schuppan; parents, William and Bernice Chamberlain; and a brother, Earl Chamberlain.
