TORRINGTON – Dale Duane Hunter, 89 passed peacefully Thursday May 16, 2018, at his home in Torrington.

No funeral services will be held and cremation has already taken place under the direction of the Colyer Funeral home. Friends may send their condolences to the family at www.Colyerfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the local VFW Post 2918 or The Torrington Volunteer Fire Dept.

Dale was born Nov. 17, 1928, on the family farm in Cottier to Eddie E. & Fay (Dudly) Hunter.

Dale grew up and worked with his father and grandfather on the farm and attended school in Cottier and Torrington. In January 1951, he went to the Army and served on the front lines in Korea until December 1952. He married Betty Meyer/Pittman May 31, 1953. He farmed, then work for the GID, and CalGas and later Goshen County Road and Bridge, retiring in 1993.

He loved to work on old pickups and lawn mowers.

He is survived by his wife Betty, four children, Allen (Deb), David (Tomi), Gary (Tammy) all of Torrington. And one daughter Ronda (Rufus) Barajas of Commerce City, Colo. One brother, Clyde (Karen) Hunter of Scottsbluff, Neb. Mother-and-law Burmah Thorp of Torrington. Eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Norma Jean (Sonny) Pfaff, Janice Ann (George) Ault.
