LAGRANGE – Memorial services for Cynthia J. “Cindy” Wilson, 70, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at the LaGrange School Gym with Pastor Bill Marietta officiating. 

Cindy passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb., from her long battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place. Refreshments will be served after the service at the LaGrange Community Building. Cindy’s favorite color is blue and the family invites you to wear blue in attendance. There will also be teal ribbons to wear for Ovarian Cancer Awareness provided at the service. 

There is a memorial setup at the Longhorn Grocery and Café in LaGrange. Cards and other memorials may be mailed to Meggan at PO Box 184, LaGrange, WY 82221. The family asks all who wish to attend and celebrate Cindy’s life with her family and friends. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. 

Cindy was born Aug. 19, 1948, in Cheyenne to Everett and Anna Clason. She graduated from East High School in 1966 in Cheyenne. She played softball and was very active in 4-H. 

After high school she married James O”Dell in June 1966 and they had three children: James, Beth and Cameron. She worked at multiple truck stops and diners as well as the phone company in Cheyenne and Laramie. 

Not long after the passing of her husband James in 1975 she and her children moved to Hill City, S.D., where she worked at the Carousel Café. In March 1981, she married Wes Wilson and soon had another daughter Meggan. The family moved to Mesa, Ariz., for a few years and then moved to the family property in LaGrange in February 1989. Not long after Wes and Cindy bought the grocery store in town and added a café in the back. 

The Longhorn Grocery and Café was brought to life and Cindy alongside her family worked there and served the town of LaGrange for 15 years. They were also the proprietors of the Dead Horse Saloon in LaGrange until the passing of Wes in 2001. Cindy sold the Dead Horse Saloon and soon to follow the Longhorn as well. She then worked for the post offices of LaGrange, Albin and Pine Bluffs until October 2018. 

She was an active member of the LaGrange community, helping with the LaGrange Mini Fair and played a vital role in the American Legion Auxiliary. She was awarded the Woman of the Year award for her contributions there in 2002. Cindy also stood on the Goshen County School Board with the main intention of presenting the LaGrange/Bear Creek graduates she watched grow with their diplomas, to include her own daughter, Meggan.

Cindy is survived by her son James O’Dell, daughter Beth (O’Dell) Pafford, daughter-in-law Stephanie (Muvinel) Roberts, daughter Meggan Wilson, 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and Floyd. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands James O’Dell and Wes Wilson; her sisters Judy Vitale and Francy Allen; her brother Clason; her son Cameron O’Dell and her granddaughter Brogann Stees.
