YODER – The Southeast High School boys’ basketball team shot 50% (28-of-56) from the floor and had 10 players in the scoring column in a 66-45 victory over the Glenrock Herders Saturday afternoon in Yoder.

The Cyclones scored the first eight points of the game, but Glenrock answered with eight points of its own to tie the game.

However, with 3:48 left in the first quarter, senior Sawyer Anderson broke the tie, and Southeast never trailed for the remainder of the contest.

The score started a 15-3 run, pushing the Cyclone lead to 23-11.

The Southeast lead never dipped below eight for the rest of the game.

Anderson led the Cyclones with 18 points, while senior Bodie Herring had 15. Junior Cord Herring added eight and senior Hayden Anderson seven. Bodie Herring grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, while Hayden Anderson, Cord Herring and Sawyer Anderson had six boards each.

Southeast (11-7) earned the top seed at the 1A East Regional Tournament which begins on Thursday.

The Cyclones will play cross-county rival Lingle-Fort Laramie (4-13) for the right to go to the state tournament in the opening round of regionals. The winner qualifies for state, and the loser sees its season come to a close. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. at Torrington High School’s Willi Gym.
