LUSK – On Sept. 8, 2021, in the Circuit Court of the Eighth Judicial District of and for Niobrara County two cases were brought before Judge Dennis Meier, Attorney Doyle Davies represented the state.
Dustin Reid Thwreatt of Lusk was present from the Niobrara County Detention Center for an arraignment on a citation from the Lusk Police Department for domestic assault. Thwreatt pleaded not guilty, and a bench trial was set for Nov. 10, 2021, at 10 a.m. His bond was set at $750 with 10% due along with standard and alcohol conditions of the court and random testing. Judge Meier remanded Thwreatt back to the Detention Center until he can post bond.
Jason Doloroso of Rapid City, South Dakota was present for an arraignment on two citations from the Lusk Police Department. Doloroso pleaded guilty to both speeding 40 mph in a 30-mph zone and possession of a controlled substance, 3/10 or less of a gram in liquid form of marijuana. Doloroso had already paid the $140 speeding ticket. He was fined $1,000 with $750 suspended, six months in jail with all suspended, $70 court costs, $200 crime victims fund, and $50 drug/alcohol surcharge. Doloroso was placed on unsupervised probation until his fines are paid in full. All suspensions are with the stipulation of paying his fines in a timely manner.
