Library to host special book sale
GOSHEN COUNTY – The Goshen County Library Foundation will host a special book sale next month, focused on military history.

The Foundation received a large collection of military and war books from Lt. Col. Craig Dreier and his wife Marsha Dreier. These will be offered to the public during a two-day sale, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., June 6 – 7 at the Goshen Library Activity Center, 2017 East A St., in Torrington.
In addition to the two-day event, the Library will host an open house to show off recently completed renovations.
“Sales will be conducted in accordance with the most current health recommendations and social distancing,” said Nan Hornbeck, secretary of the Library Foundation. “The Library will host an Open House to allow the public to see the recent ‘facelift’ of the facility.
“This will correlate with the book sale on Saturday, June 6. We have many ideas for small tours, outside activities and a kick-off for the Summer Reading Program.”
The donated collection includes nonfiction hardback books, series of war histories, fiction and nonfiction paperbacks and a variety of books and magazines dealing with military aviation. The collection was amassed over a period of 35 years.
Sales will be on a cash-only basis. A $10 “advance admission” option will be available on Saturday from 8 -10 a.m. at the door.
