Busy weekend for area fire departments

GOSHEN COUNTY – Both the Torrington Volunteer Fire Department (TVFD) and Lingle Volunteer Fire Department (LVFD) had a busy weekend. Saturday morning, Lingle firefighters responded to the 300 block of Clover Avenue in Lingle to extinguish a residential structure fire, and Torrington firefighters responded to the 400 block of West 14th Avenue in Torrington that afternoon to extinguish a residential structure fire.

At 7:16 a.m., a Lingle resident contacted the Torrington Communications Center and reported a fire in the attic at their residence on the 300 block of Clover Street. LVFD responded to the scene and requested assistance from TVFD. The two worked together to extinguish the fire. 

The Wyoming State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to investigate the matter. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries reported resulting from the fire. 

The Red Cross of Wyoming assisted one adult affected by the house fire, according to a press release from the Red Cross. 

“Red Cross assistance can provide care, comfort, mental health and health services, disaster supplies, lodging and assistance for other immediate needs,” the release reads. 

That afternoon, the Torrington Communications Center dispatched TVFD to the 400 block of West 14th Avenue to extinguish a residential structure fire. 

“Arriving firefighters found a small residential structure with smoke showing,” a Facebook post reads. “Firefighters worked to extinguish a fire within the attic.”

The cause of the under is under investigation by the Wyoming State Fire Marshal’s Office. There were no injuries reported resulting from the fire.

TVFD was supported by the Torrington Police Department, Torrington EMS, Goshen Fire Warden and the American Red Cross.
