TORRINGTON – A pair of siblings in Goshen County are combining their time and talents to create durable works of art – wooden pieces that are quickly gaining popularity in the area.

Nathan and Marie Musser, originally from Utah, moved to the area in 2014 to work at Kurt Manufacturing in Lyman, Neb.

“We both came from a manufacturing background before,” Nathan said. “We were both familiar with that work when we came out here.”

Nathan’s interest in carpentry and construction began approximately 15 years ago, and eventually grew to include manufacturing and machining.

Marie said she’s also enjoyed working with wood for several years now. She recalls building bunk beds when she was 13 and constructing her family’s chicken house.

“Working with wood gives you the best opportunity for seeing the results of your work, and seeing the satisfaction on (customers’) faces,” Nathan said.

“We can bring people’s dreams into reality,” Marie added. “With woodworking, there are untapped possibilities. There’s always something new waiting to be born when you’re working with wood.”

Each sibling has a role in the business; Nathan focuses on construction, while Marie handles design and finish work, including sanding and staining. She also enjoys drawing, and creates custom portraitures based off photos she receives from customers – complete with a custom wood frame, of course.

“Us working together, we help bring out each other’s abilities and talents,” Marie said.

ProMaster Woodworking officially opened for business March 12 with a ribbon cutting, although orders had already been rolling in for some time.

The pair offers custom-made cabinetry, molding and furniture, and specializes in bunkbeds, which feature a variety of designs, finishes and a lifetime guarantee. For photos and details, visit shop.1800bunkbed.com, www.promasterwoodworking.com or facebook.com/1800bunkbed.

“Everybody’s own personal style can be reflected in our work,” Marie said.

“We can customize anything,” Nathan agreed. “The finish is (the customer’s) choice, as well.”

The Mussers said they can build a bunkbed in about a day using team effort and the latest woodworking equipment, including a drum sander and planer/moulder-in-one.

“We build to order to fit the needs for each customer,” Marie said.
