TORRINGTON – The Torrington Trailblazer tennis team returned to their home court Tuesday, hosting the Cheyenne South Bison.

Despite winning only two matches on the day, the Blazers came away with a split with the Lady Blazers picking up a 5-0 win, while the boys fell 4-1.

In the girls’ division, Emi Glass picked up a 7-5, 6-2 win in the only girls match of the day as the Bison were open in the other four matches.

Meanwhile, Sera Glass (No. 2 singles), Elyssa Cummings and Bethany Wunibold (No. 1 doubles), Tyne Stokes and Trisha Cates (No. 2 doubles) and Jaycee Myrtle and Autumn Harris (No. 3 doubles) earned wins by default.

In the boys’ division, the No. 1 doubles team of Levi Wickham and Benjamin Braddy overcame an early deficit in the second set to knock off Cheyenne South in a tie-breaker, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4).

The Blazer teams are back in action Saturday at 1 p.m. in Sheridan.
