TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Benjamin George ‘Benji’ Brozovich were Oct. 15, 2018, at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds Auditorium, with Father Andrew Duncan of St. Leo Catholic Church officiating and Pastor's Tom Walker and Pastor Eric Joppa from Torrington and Ben's aunt, Joyce Hobbs speaking. He died Oct. 4, 2018, in a train crash west of Cheyenne.

Ben was born in Lusk Jan. 11, 1979, to Art and Madeleine (Kalamaja) Brozovich-Jacobs and grew up on the family ranch. His large, colorful and strong personality was already visible when he was born with his wild spiky black hair and red face. He was stubborn, opinionated but funny. Ben loved to live passionately which drove him to ride moto cross, learn snowboarding and any sport fast and fun. He leaves behind a family who will forever miss the place he had in their lives but live with hope that one day they will be re-united with him once again.

He attended Niobrara County Schools, and graduated from NCHS in 1997. While in school he dabbled a bit in sports but found his true sport to be motorcycles. He remained a died-in-the-wool Bronco's fan...no matter how bad they played.

Ben passionately enjoyed moto cross racing even if it came with broken bones. And he embraced a new love, golf, which he found calming and fun.

At the time of his death, Ben had been employed by Union Pacific Railroad for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Martin and Katherine ‘Katy’ Brozovich; his maternal grandfather Karl Kalamaja; an aunt Angela, and his brothers Jordan and Jason.

Ben is survived by his parents, Art Brozovich of Lusk and his mother Madeleine (Jack) Jacobs of Torrington; brother Tyler Brozovich of Lusk; the daughter he adored, Sierra Brozovich of Lusk; maternal grandmother Wilma Kalamaja and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
