Area track and field athletes combine for 10 top 10s

LARAMIE – The indoor track and field season continued Friday at the Wyoming High School Open hosted at the University of Wyoming Fieldhouse.

Southeast’s Jordan Stoddard led the way with a pair of wins and four total top fives.

Stoddard won high jump at 5 feet, 6 inches and won helped the Cheyenne Central 4x400-meter relay team to a win in 4 minutes, 26.05 seconds.

Southeast’s Kelcie Lovercheck scored a pair of top 10s with a sixth in the 4x400-meter relay (4:43.37) and a ninth in the 1,600-meter run (6:20.39).

Torrington’s Allison Brummell finished seventh in triple jump (30-9) and 13th in the long jump (14-7.25), while Emily McGaugh came home 23rd in the 400-meter dash (1:16.41).

Lingle-Fort Laramie’s Jordyn Gaspers placed 14th in the triple jump (29-1.25), 16th in the high jump (4-0) and 29th in the long jump (12-8.25), while Cora Frederick finished 23rd in the 1,600-meter run (7:08.33).

In the boys’ division, Torrington duo of Nathaniel Woodruff and Corbin Harris showed the way I shot put. Woodruff finished fourth with a toss of 48-10.5, while Harris was fifth with a throw of 46-3.5.

L-FL’s Kyland Fuller was sixth in the 4x800-meter relay in 9:12.15, while finishing 15th in long jump (17-5.25) and 19th in the 800-meter run (2:29.82).

Torrington’s Nick Sherbeyn placed 13th in the 200-meter dash (25.54) and 27th in the 55-meter dash (7.15).

Southeast’s Luke Hass finished 53rd in the 200-meter dash (27.9) and 67th in the 55-meter dash (7.51).
