TORRINGTON – A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Alfred Rodriguez, 92, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at St Rose Catholic Church with the Rev. Ray Moss officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. 

A Rosary will be recited Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the church. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. 

Alfred was called home to be with his Lord on June 28, 2018.

Alfred was born March 7, 1926, in Morrill, Neb., the son of Bartolo and Ascencin (Vega) Rodriguez. He received his education in Morrill. His early years he worked on farms in the area. When he was 22, he went to work in Rockford, Ill., as a drill press operator, later becoming a welder. From March 1951 to December 1952 he served in the U.S. Army in Korea.

Alfred enjoyed working on and restoring cars. He was a member of St Rose Catholic Church and his faith was very important to him. 

Alfred is survived by 37 nieces and nephews and their spouses; two special care givers Zach and Connie Prado; sisters-in-law Connie Rodriguez and Jenny Rodriguez. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and three sisters.
