TORRINGTON – Agnes Marie Barker, 90, went peacefully into the loving arms of the Savior on Dec. 5, 2019, with family by her side. A service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington. 

Cremation has taken place and burial of her ashes will take place in Franklin, Neb., at a later date.

Agnes was born Feb. 6, 1929, to Henry and Laura Feess on the family farm in Davenport, Neb. She only completed the eighth grade before she went to work in the broom factory in Deshler, Neb. In the 1940’s, Agnes met Elmer Koch and to this union three children were born. On Dec. 21, 1971, she married Dennis W. Barker in Cheyenne and they spent 36 years together until his death in December 2007. They raised their adopted son Shane Barker. Agnes loved spending time with her family. She loved cooking for them especially her fried chicken and homemade sausage. Agnes loved to garden and plant flowers.

Agnes is preceded in death by her husband Dennis Barker; daughter Chelsea Jennings; brother LaVern Feess; and her parents. 

She is survived by her son Charles (Jade) Koch of Vesper, Wisc., daughter Lauri (Kenny) Fink of Torrington, son Shane Barker of Golden, Colo., sisters Donna (Larry) Gruwell of Centennial, Colo., Beverely (Don) Aude of Tobias, Neb., and Lauretta Sykes of Loveland, Colo., step-sons Dennis Barker and Alan Barker of Golden, Colo., four grandchildren, Jason Koch Jerry (Natalie) Koch, Mike Koch and Chelsea (Dustin) Dabb, three step-grandchildren, Alan Larson, Kimberley Boehmer and Nicole (Jaun) Soliz, four great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
