Eastern Wyoming College sophomore Lance Korell hit 6-of-10 shots from the floor, including 4-of-5 from three-point range for a game-high 18 points as the Lancer men fell to Colby (Kan.) Community College (72-70) at the Laramie County Community College Tournament last Friday.

After suffering the two-point loss to the Jayhawk Conference foe, the Lancers came back with an 82-63 loss to Garden City (Kan.) Community College on Saturday.

Against Colby, the Lancers hit 14-of-29 shots from the floor in the first half and 4-of-7 from long distance, but the Trojans hit 18-of-36 shots and 6-of-12 from three-point range to take a 44-37 lead at intermission.

Eastern Wyoming battled back in the second half and cut the Trojans lead to two on several occasions in the final 10 minutes, but could not get any closer.

Colby hit just 9-of-28 shots in the second half (1-of-8 from three-point range) while the Lancers were 12-of-30 from the floor (4-of-5 from deep).

Korell added five rebounds and three assists to go along with his 18 points while Ivan Simic had 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting with eight rebounds. Fola Adeleke tallied eight points and four rebounds in 15 minutes of action while Lashad Stuckey had six points and four rebounds in seven minutes.

Darius Gordon chipped in five points and nine rebounds for the Lancers while Kevin Brown had five points and four rebounds and Winston Harris added five points.

On Saturday, the Lancers trailed 37-27 at halftime after shooting just 11-of-28 from the floor in the first 20 minutes against Garden City and could not overcome the deficit.

Eastern Wyoming hit 13-of-30 shots in the final 20 minutes of regulation, but Garden City went 18-of-29 from the floor in the second half to outscore the Lancers 45-36.

Korell led the Lancers with 13 points, three rebounds and two assists while Gordon had 10 points and eight rebounds. Zach Young tallied nine points and four rebounds while Harris had nine points, three rebounds and two assists. Simic chipped in eight points and four rebounds while Matt Schackow had five points and Cameron Richardson had three.
