In my 52 years of living, I have met many different kinds of people. Recently, I had the opportunity to meet Cindy Hill during her recent afternoon in Torrington
During our brief conversation, there was one realization that immediately struck me about Ms. Hill: she is not a one-issue candidate. She is familiar with a spectrum of genuine issues concerning our state.
Despite her background in education, she has looked into many things that Wyoming needs to address for us to continue to move ahead in a positive fashion.
I was also privileged to attend a small roundtable discussion that same evening. During a question-and-answer session, I asked Ms. Hill a question related to something currently in the news on the national front but did have some bearing on Wyoming.
In the overall picture, the exact issue wasn’t of major significance, but her answer was. I wanted to see how she would respond to something not on a possible list of topics for which a reply had been previously developed. After a few moments, her response was reasoned and reasonable, stating that she saw the need for people to take responsibility for their actions.
Her response was that of a stateswoman operating from ultimate concern for her state’s citizens and not as another politician running for office in order to use state resources for personal gain. In short, she answered like a true governor.
Having followed news coverage throughout the state, I found that she was often times given the short end of the stick or otherwise misrepresented. Because of her core of determined concern for public service, as well as the future wellbeing of Wyoming and its continued growth, I am urging my fellow voters across the state to seriously consider Ms. Hill as our next governor.
