Lady Cyclones claims SEWAC with wins over LFL, Lady Hornets

Southeast junior Jessica Lessard leads the charge in Saturday’s 48-46 win over Lingle. She also led the team in scoring the night before with 20 in a double-overtime win in Pine Bluffs.


TORRINGTON – The Southeast Lady Cyclones squeaked by cross-county rival Lingle-Fort Laramie 48-46 Saturday at the Verl Petsch Jr. Activities Center in Torrington.

“We came into the game with no doubt that this was going to be a dog fight,” coach Matt Cornelius said. “We knew it was a going to be a close game at the end.”

Southeast junior Laurel Luke put the Lady Cyclones on the scoreboard first in the opening moments of the game, but Lingle senior Kylah Meyer gave the Lady Doggers a 4-2 lead just shy of the midway point of the first quarter.
