BREAKING: Torrington teen arrested for attempted murder

According to a press release sent to the Torrington Telegram by the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office, Dylan Cardeilhac, 15, was arrested for attempted first degree murder early Friday morning.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday, Scotts Bluff Detention Center reported an incident wherein Cardeilhac strangled Corrections Officer Amanda Baker, 24. Ms. Baker was transported to Regional West Medical Center and is reportedly in very serious condition, the press release stated.

The Nebraska State Patrol and Scotts Bluff County's Sheriff's office are investigating the incident.

Cardeilhac was being held in detention awaiting trial on the charge of robbery stemming from an incident on Dec. 3, 2013 in Mitchell, Neb.

While Cardeilhac is 15 and a minor, the Telegram is publishing his name due of the severity of the charge.
