TORRINGTON Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) is working to resolve issues cited in a Dec. 11 U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) preliminary report on the college veterinary technology program, which revealed the deaths of three animals and the injury of another.

The preliminary report and nine infractions, some facts of which are being appealed by EWC, is the result of the routine annual inspection by USDA APHIS and is the basis for a call for fines of up to $70,000 by the national animal rights group, Stop Animal Exploitation Now! (SAEN).
