School district makes AYP grade

Three schools miss mark, but scores not indicative of teacher, parent or student improvement, administrators say



TORRINGTON – Goshen County School District (GCSD) No. 1 saw improvements in multiple areas based on the 2012-13 Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) results, a gauge used by the federal government to measure schools’ academic progress.

Both Lingle-Fort Laramie Elementary School and the school district as a whole rebounded with qualifying grades after being marked as “holding,” or not making AYP, last year.
