Corn harvest looks good

File - The corn harvest looks solid for this fall despite the heavy rains that came to the county.

TORRINGTON – With a slow start to growing earlier in the summer months, agricultural specialists believe this coming corn harvest will be plentiful, that is, if snow stays out of the forecast.

Farm manager for the James C. Hageman Sustainable Agriculture Research and Extension Center (SAREC) in Lingle, Bob Baumgartner described how the late summer’s hotter temperatures were beneficial to the crop’s growth.
