Since the first rain we had this spring until a week or so ago, I have called, written and written again trying to get the east end of the alley between Monte Vista and Linda Vista fixed on a more permanent basis.
Each time we have rain, the road washes out again. After appealing to the mayor and the city council, Mr. Law did what he could to get something done. The alley was then graded, and a large amount of gravel was dumped on it.
It was not packed down, so it is like driving in snow, but at least it is graveled. However, nothing was done about the approach on the east end, and once again it is washed out. The west end of this alley is concrete, which makes one question why the east was not paved, as well.
When I called earlier in the summer, I was told the sanitation/street department was awfully busy, and they would come when they had time. If that is the case, then I propose to go help them out when I return from my vacation.
That should relieve these hard-working city employees so that perhaps they will have time to fix the east end of the alley. My garage opens to this alley, thus my effort to have a decent usable exit and entrance.
