CHEYENNE – James G. Sigea, 54, passed away suddenly at his home on Oct. 3, 2013.
Jim was born Feb. 25, 1959 in Billings, Mont. He grew up in Holdrege, Neb., and Torrington.
Jim graduated from Torrington High School in 1977, then took a year off before going to Casper College to study drafting for 2 1/2 years.
Then Jim decided to pursue different things. In 1981, Jim met his future wife, Rhonda Uhrich. They were married on Feb. 27, 1982 and have been together until his untimely death.
Jim pursued a career in aviation and became an outstanding A&P mechanic when he attended Colorado Aero Tech (Cheyenne extension) in 1986. After graduating at the top of his class in 1986, Rhonda and Jim moved to Georgia, where he worked for Lockheed for a year.
Lockheed went through a layoff, so Jim got a more exciting job with Phoenix Air and Phoenix Air Racing. Jim became part of the race team, becoming the crew chief. He was living a dream, traveling with the team. He also worked as a mechanic for Edwards Tire in Woodstock, Ga. for several years.
After 13 years in Georgia, Jim and Rhonda decided to move back west to be closer to family, so they made Cheyenne their home.
