Wyoming Historical Society to host presentation Sept. 7

Courtesy - Torrington area landowner and former Goshen County Commissioner Ross Newman was one of several people interviewed for the UW American Heritage Center’s oral history project about the Niobrara Oil Play.

TORRINGTON – The Wyoming Historical Society, hosted by the Goshen County Historical Society, will hold its 60th annual meeting in Torrington beginning Friday, Sept. 6. Members and non-members alike are invited to participate in any or all activities of the weekend designed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the society.

Activities include tours of Fort Laramie National Historic Site, Fort Bernard, the Western History Center near Lingle, Homesteaders Museum in Torrington and a talk about the Niobrara Oil Play.
