Crop irrigation coming to an end

Photo/ Bud Patterson - Center pivot irrigation will start winding down as the Goshen Irrigation District shuts down water flows in the area’s irrigation canals.

TORRINGTON – With harvests looming just around the corner, it is time to start turning off the water spigot that growers depend on to nourish the cash crops they have been keeping watch over all season.

According to Rob Posten, manager of the Goshen Irrigation District (GID), the GID has already begun shutting off head gates and expects the final shutdown to occur Saturday at 4 p.m.
