TORRINGTON – Helen was born to Burton and LuLu (Light) Lee in Danbury, Conn.
She married Howard Dickens on Oct. 27, 1939 and was married for 54 years until his death.
She had financial management jobs in Danbury before retiring.
She could hardly wait for the Great Danbury Fair in October each year to enter her decorated cakes, pies and preserves, winning many ribbons each year.
At age 80 years young, she moved to Torrington to be with her relatives. She loved the family get-togethers.
She sang in the Kitchen Band, enjoyed the bank-sponsored programs to various entertainment centers and liked cruise lines, which were her biggest trips, including those to Alaska and Hawaii.
She kept in touch with all of her friends and relatives back East with phone calls and letters.
Surviving Helen is her son H. Ted Dickens and wife Pearl of Torrington; grandson Theodore Dickens; and great grandchildren Joe, Kyle and Maddalin Dickens of Loveland, Colo.
Preceding her in death were husband Howard; father and mother Burton Lee and Lulu (Light) Lee; brothers and sisters Robert, Burton, Anna Vibbert and Arlene Ely.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Danbury.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Goshen Senior Center.
