Imported produce could carry a passenger

TORRINGTON Although no cases have been reported in Wyoming in the past decade, a large number of people have been affected by a rare parasite in multiple states, one being Nebraska, and health officials are asking residents to be aware of the issue.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website, the parasite, cyclospora, is not life-threatening and infects the intestinal tract, causing symptoms like vomiting, prolonged diarrhea and loss of appetite.
