If you have questions about SF 104, please see www.repealsf104.com. The state deadline for Wyoming County Sponsors to file signatures is May 25. We are closing in on the 40,000 signatures needed, but we know we will need to make up for Laramie County (Cheyenne). They fear for their jobs.
Applause to those who want to study before signing! My interpretation, the legislators nullified my vote! Where and when does the government takeover, power and control stop? If Gov. Matt Mead and his legislative followers didn’t feel the right person was in place to oversee the educational needs of Wyoming kids, then they should’ve done an impeachment.
Apparently, making the state superintendent of public instruction in Wyoming has been an item of concern for several years that has needed changed to a governor-appointed position instead of an elected position … NOT!
Now, because of personality conflicts between the legislators and Cindy Hill, we have an interim appointed business administrator vs. having an experienced and highly-educated educator with hands-on classroom experience.
What the legislators have done is an end run around the Wyoming State Constitution. They figured the people of Wyoming would overlook or not pay attention when they nullified our vote! Now is the time to let our state government know, WE DO EXPECT our vote to count over a few elected legislators self-serving personal agendas, and they will be held accountable at the November 2014 election.
Keep in mind, if this elected position stays in control of the governor, it will be an appointed position based on a recommendation provided by the Wyoming State Board of Education, which currently consists of governor-appointed liberals.
Please sign the petition on Mondays, May 6, 13 and 20, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Brand Room. There are several opportunities to sign. All this petition will do is place this referendum initiative on the ballot in 2014 to let the people of Wyoming decide what they want. Please call me at (307) 532-6347 or Joan at (307) 534-5631.
