Ex-trooper shares his story of pain and forgiveness

Photo/ Bud Patterson - Ex-Wyoming State Trooper Steve Watt shares his story of personal tragedy and forgiveness at the Praise Grace Assembly of God in Torrington. Watt was shot five times by a fleeing robbery suspect in 1982 and eventually forgave and befriended the shooter.


TORRINGTON – Sunday night at the Praise Assembly of God Church in Torrington, attendees heard a remarkable story of survival, faith and forgiveness from Steve Watt, an ex-state trooper who experienced a law enforcement officer’s worst nightmare.

Sitting on a stool at the front of the church, Watt took the crowd through the fateful events that happened over 30 years ago that would change his life forever.
