Southeast Wyoming waits for spring rain

TORRINGTON – When it comes to the current drought and moisture, the numbers confirm what locals already know: southeastern Wyoming is struggling and has been for the better part of a year, and future outlooks don’t necessarily give a lot of reason for hope.

But, according to Jim Fahey, a hydrologist with the Wyoming branch of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), historical data shows some relief could come in the form of spring rain this year, which is contrary to what some media outlets would have people believe.
