TORRINGTON – By itself, the accomplishment is mind-blowing.

Semi-new Torrington resident Jacob Rammell, with only a couple years of competitive weight lifting under his lever-action lifting belt, goes to a world championship in Las Vegas, dead lifts 695 pounds, beats the closest competition by at least 20 pounds and wins not only his weight class, but also the open class.
