Letter to the editor: Seen and unseen children

Posted: Wednesday, Jan 30th, 2013

We are all aware of the horrible tragedy of Newtown, Conn., where 20 innocent, defenseless children were killed. These children had only just begun their lives.

We saw the horror and heartbreak of the other children, family and friends after their senseless death.

There are other children, every day, being killed children who have just begun their lives. Young lives only to be taken away by abortion.

Through technology of ultrasounds, you can see these unborn children.

These unborn children, in the womb, have a heartbeat as early as 18 to 22 days. Their tiny hearts are about as big as a poppy seed.

Their brain waves can be detected as early as six to eight weeks.

Many mothers and fathers to be have those ultrasound pictures on their refrigerators or have given the ultrasound picture to future grandparents, who show them proudly.

These children would love to have a life, to be able to go to school and celebrate Christmas. These children may someday marry and want to start a family of their own.

As American citizens of this free country, we should speak up for these defenseless children who can not speak for themselves. All life is precious seen or unseen.
