TORRINGTON – After literally months of preparations – traveling, acclimating, climbing, taking photographs and writing – Laramie native Mark Jenkins approached an elevation of 29,029 feet on Mount Everest.
The award-winning author accomplished something only about 4,000 ever have, and his expedition came 26 years after he failed to reach the summit on his first trip and 50 after the first Americans climbed to the top of the iconic mountain.
