Chariots and lions, fun for the whole family

TORRINGTON – The Lions Club annual Race to See Chariot races came to Torrington last weekend with all the intensity of the Colosseum games of ancient Rome, but without the swords, armor or Ben Hur.

Twelve teams, each consisting of one driver, two very high-strung horses and a very fragile looking chariot, competed in 12 races to determine one overall champion of the raceway.
