April 29, 1918-Dec. 30, 2012

TORRINGTON – Margaret O’Dell Lovercheck passed away Dec. 30, 2012 at Community Hospital in Torrington. She was briefly hospitalized after suffering a stroke. She resided at Evergreen Court for the past several years.

At Margaret’s request, there will be no services, and she will be buried in Tonkawa, Okla. next to her first husband, Cruise Ambers Niswonger.

Margaret was born April 29, 1918 in Ada, Okla. at the farm house. She was born the daughter of John Alvin and Virgie Gertrude (Stewart) Tillery. After graduation from high school, she attended Three Sands Beauty College and became a beautician.

Margaret had three sisters and two brothers. She was particularly close to her only surviving sibling, Mildred Hall, and talked to her daily. After Margaret married Cruise Ambers Niswonger, the couple lived in several states, including Oklahoma, Texas and North Dakota, as his work in the energy industry moved them around.

They settled in Torrington when Cruise went to work managing a pumping station at Fort Laramie. Margaret enjoyed her circle of friends and belonged to a bridge club, a golf club, the Woman’s Better Business Bureau and the First Baptist Church.

Margaret married Otis Wayne Lovercheck in 1965 in Longview, Texas. They lived in Torrington but had winter homes in Phoenix and Texas, where they enjoyed their friends and golf, fishing, bowling and bridge.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Stella Mae Siler and Myrtle Hare; her brothers, John A. Tillery Jr. and Delbert Tillery; and both husbands.

She is survived by her sister Mildred Hall; her special friend Glenda Oglsbe and her husband Bill; special nephew David Hall and his wife Connie; special great-nephew Ronald Lovercheck and several members of the Lovercheck family; and several other nieces and nephews.
