TORRINGTON – Funeral services for David Wayne Robbins, age 61, of rural Torrington will be held Saturday, Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1101 E. 22nd Ave. in Torrington. David died on Dec. 25, 2012 at his home.
David was born Feb. 8, 1951 in Riverside, Calif., the oldest of six children to Rich and Leona Robbins. He grew up and attended school in Chadron, Neb., and was employed by the Chicago & Northwestern railroad (later the Union Pacific) shortly after high school, working at the depot in Chadron and later in Morrill, Neb., retiring in 2010 after 37 years of service.
David and his family moved to Torrington in 1985 and resided in the community and surrounding area until his death on Christmas Day.
David married Karen Schommer and together they had three children, Donna, Rocky and Ben. He remarried in 1991 to Mary Goodwill.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Leona Robbins, and his first wife Karen. He is survived by his wife, Mary of rural Torrington; daughter, Donna of Casper; sons, Rocky and Ben of Lamar, Colo.; and grandchildren; brothers Gary, of Seward, Neb., Ron of Chadron; sisters, Pam Waggener of Winsor, Colo., Laurie Cox, of Chadron, and Lana Molezyk, of Papillion, Neb.
