FORT LARAMIE – The Fort Laramie Town Council passed the first reading of Ordinance 247, an electrical rate increase of one cent per kilowatt hour, during a contentious meeting Dec. 12.
An average residential use is approximately 750 kilowatt hours per month, meaning the ordinance, if passed, would cost the average household $7.50 extra a month over what is currently paid.
