TORRINGTON – Donna M. Colyer, 95, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at Community Hospital in Torrington.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ora Dailey officiating. A private family burial will take place at a different date. Cremation has taken place.
Memorials may be made to Waggin’ Tails Animal Shelter and National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Donna was born Jan. 6, 1917, in Longmont, Colo., the daughter of Don M. and Helen A. (Jennings) Gambill. The family later moved from Longmont to Sheridan until 1929, when they moved to Torrington. Donna graduated from THS in 1935. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. George Call for four years. She married Lewis A. Colyer Sept. 4, 1937 in Torrington. Donna worked as a funeral assistant at the Colyer Funeral Home with her husband Lewis for all of her married life.
She was an animal lover, especially her Tennessee Walker horses and her Boxer dogs.
Survivors include her daughter Marcia (Bruce) Schroeder of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; two grandsons, Brian Schroeder of Covington, Ky. and Darren (Sarah) Schroeder of Parker, Colo.; three great grandchildren, Madeline Taylor, Emily Ryan and Jackson Lewis Schroeder of Parker, Colo.; a sister Betty Riggins of Longmont, Colo. and three nieces, Sharon Sanger of Reno, Nev., Jan Riggins of Aurora, Colo. and Jennifer Keller of Reno, Nev..
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Lewis and her sister Naomi Gambill.
